Gecpd Vocation Skills Training Center

Construction of the center started in 2007 when the Garment Making and Home Furnishing Workshop was constructed as an extension of the IDP Girls Hostel/Boarding School. The idea was to have a facility that could provide skills training to women and girls accommodated in the hostel. The idea has expanded over time with the construction of a Metal Fabrication Workshop, a Wood Workshop to provide skills training to a selected group of vulnerable boys.

The center now comprises of 6 blocks of buildings that includes 3 workshops (Tailoring, Metal workshop, and Carpentry) fully equipped with various types of industrialized machines, 3 big stores/godowns, 2 small stores, 6 toilets and a water tank. The programs offered at the center include Tailoring and Garment Making, Metal Fabrication, Carpentry and Joinery. Among the industrial machines in the workshops include Industrial Sewing Machines, Industrial Garment Cutting Machines, Metal Cutting machine, Bending machines,
