Achievements
GECPD has made notable progress in promoting gender equality, access to education, and community resilience:
Education: Female literacy in Puntland rose from 17% (2000) to 47% (2024).
Vocational Training: Equipped 3,528 women and youth with employable skills.
Women’s Rights: Advocated for inclusive policies supporting gender equality.
FGM Prevention: Awareness campaigns reduced FGM prevalence from 98% (2000) to 92% (2022).
Emergency Response: Assisted 35,000 female-headed households facing droughts, floods, and conflict.
Youth Empowerment: Reached 2,000 youth through mentorship and leadership programs.
